What the app collects
The app collects no personal data, requires no account, shows no ads, and includes no third-party analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools. There are no cookies in the app, nor on this website.
Location
The app asks for "While Using" location access to compute astronomical events as seen from your position. All astronomical computation happens on your device. You may instead enter a location manually in Settings without granting the permission.
What leaves your device
- Weather: to fetch cloud, wind and dew forecasts, the app sends the coordinates of the selected site (latitude and longitude) to Open-Meteo over an encrypted connection, with no name, device identifier or other data. The service's privacy policy is on its website.
- Comets: the app fetches orbital elements from NASA's JPL Small-Body Database (ssd-api.jpl.nasa.gov). This request contains nothing about you or your location.
- Map: when picking a site on the map, map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap servers for the visible area.
The developer operates no server and receives none of these requests.
Stored on your device
Saved sites, preferences and cached comet and weather data live only on your device, in the app container shared with the widget, and are deleted with the app. They may be included in your device's iCloud backup according to your own settings.
Your rights
Your data is yours; you can edit or delete it inside the app at any time. We cannot fulfil access or deletion requests on your behalf because we simply hold no copy of your data.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from them.
Changes
Changes to this policy are posted on this page with their date, alongside an update to the privacy manifest inside the app.
